registered phlebotomy technician
A phlebotomy is the process of making a small puncture in a vein usually in the arm, with the use of a cannula, with the intent drawing blood. This procedure is called venipuncture.
Registered Phlebotomy Technician is an essential team member of the clinical laboratory team, some of their responsibilities are :
- Venipuncture, draw blood specimens via syringe and micro/specimen collection techniques.
- The collection and processing of other clinical specimens.
- Inventory and organize needles, blood vials, test tubes, and centrifuges while maintaining medical instruments.
- Ensure samples all laboratory testing and analysis are prepared.
In just a Eleven months each student will gain hands-on experiences and theoretical approaches to:
- Patients and Blood donors, perform blood draws.
- Process specimens for testing efficiently, by labeling and data entry.
- Label the drawn blood for testing or processing

- BJC or BJCSE Math & English With C or above.
(We have a prerequisite program that will allow you to transition into your core program) - Additional class and cost if BJC or BGCSE requirements are not met.
